Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Billstead. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Billstead.
1. About Billstead
Billstead is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application for tracking property bills, shared expenses, and household finances. It is operated by [FULL NAME / TRADING NAME], Ireland ("Billstead", "we", "us", "our").
2. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have read and understood these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and agree to be bound by them.
3. Description of Service
Billstead allows you to: record and track property bills and expenses; share costs with co-owners, tenants, or housemates; upload and parse bill documents using AI assistance (Pro plan); and export transaction history (Pro plan). Features are subject to change.
4. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information at registration.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access at hello@billstead.app.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Billstead for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
- Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the platform's security.
- Share your account credentials with others.
- Attempt to access data belonging to other users.
- Reverse engineer, copy, modify, or resell the service.
- Process personal data of third parties without a legal basis to do so.
6. Subscription and Payment
Billstead offers a Free plan and a Pro plan. Pro plan pricing and features are displayed at signup and in your account Settings.
- Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe.
- You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
- No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.
- 14-day cooling-off period: EU consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase. By accessing the Pro features immediately after subscribing, you expressly request early performance and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is waived once you have used the Pro features.
- Free trials: if a trial is offered, it will automatically end without charge. No credit card is required to start a trial.
7. Intellectual Property
Billstead, including its code, design, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of [NAME]. You retain full ownership of any data you enter into Billstead. You grant Billstead a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of Billstead after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without prejudice to your rights as an EU consumer under the law of your country of residence.
